Jason's passion and lifelong goal is to share the excitement of learning to play the Saxophone well with his bright, young students. He teaches privately in the greater Phoenix-Mesa-Tempe-Gilbert area of Arizona.

Jason Lesker's music has been applauded throughout the world at competitions, concert halls, and classical venues.  His flawless dedication to the Classical French Style first formulated and performed by the late, great Marcel Mule has been acknowledged in France by the famed professor of saxophone, Claude Delangle.

Born in San Diego, Lesker became interested in music early on. He started playing the violin when he was only four, living with his parents in Queenstown, New Zealand at the time. His teacher, Rosanne Ford, commented that Jason was reading music competently before his fifth birthday. At nine years old, he played trombone in his elementary school band and also played guitar. He switched to trumpet in middle school and finally discovered the love and passion of his life: Saxophone.

At fifteen, Jason was already playing gigs with his own Saxophone Quartet and performing as first chair in the Serra High School band in San Diego. During his Sophomore year of high school, Lesker moved across the country and resided in Fairfax County, Virginia, so he could study with world renowned saxophonist Dale Underwood and flutist Judy Lapple.

In 2004, Lesker enrolled in the George Mason University school of music in Fairfax, Virginia. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance, continuing his studies with Dale Underwood. In his freshman year of college, Lesker earned a spot performing Paul Creston's Sonata on the prestigious Honors Recital at George Mason University, an accomplishment usually reserved for senior performers.

The following year, he earned first chair in the GMU Wind Symphony under the direction of Anthony Maiello. Lesker was also appointed soprano saxophonist of the GMU Saxophone Quartet.

In 2006, Lesker won the celebrated MTNA Young Artist Woodwind Competition, for the state of Virginia. The MTNA competition required all applicants to perform a forty minute recital program from various musical periods. It was a competition that was open to any resident of Virginia, aged 19-26, and the entrants hailed from institutions such as The Eastman School of Music and the Peabody Conservatory. Lesker won, as the youngest competitor, at 19. In 2007, Lesker once again earned a spot on the GMU Honors Recital, this time as the final program selection.

In July 2007, he traveled to Paris as well as Gap, France, to study at the European Summer Univeristy for the Saxophone.  During his two weeks in France, Lesker studied intensely with Arno Bornkamp, Vincent David, Fabrizio Mancuso, Christian Wirth, and Claude Delangle.

Currently, Jason lives in Mesa,Arizona where he teaches a maximum of 21 private students, performs globally, and is currently arranging tracks for the release of his second Classical CD.
